About the Artist

Sun at Six is a furniture design studio that aims to create spaces that are simple, gentle, restorative, nourishing, open, and natural. They work hard to find quality, sustainably sourced hardwoods, which are air-dried, hand-sealed, and carefully kiln-dried according to their own recipes. Sun at Six sources leather from a family-owned tannery in Italy, and work with traditional Chinese joinery masters, who hand build each piece of furniture using fading, ancient joinery techniques.

Designer's Perspective

I love the design of this chair. It's such an interesting form, and the mix of leather and oak is just perfect. My favorite element is the use of joinery in the construction of the chair, which means no bolts or screws.
